Job Description
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the Orthopaedic Operation Theatre by assisting surgeons during procedures.
Requirements
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid Nursing Council Registration
- Minimum 1 year experience in Orthopaedic OT preferred
- Knowledge of OT protocols, sterilization, and infection control practices
- Ability to assist in orthopaedic surgical procedures and handle OT equipment/instruments
- Good communication, teamwork, and emergency handling skills
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and immediate joining preferred
Roles & Tasks
- Prepare and maintain the Operation Theatre before surgical procedures
- Assist orthopaedic surgeons during surgeries by providing instruments and required support
- Ensure strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery
- Handle OT equipment, surgical instruments, and implants safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate OT records, surgical counts, and patient documentation
- Coordinate with doctors, anaesthetists, and OT staff for smooth surgical workflow
- Ensure proper cleaning, stocking, and readiness of OT supplies and consumables
- Respond promptly to emergencies and support patient safety at all times
- Educate and assist patients regarding pre-operative and post-operative care procedures
